Literary
People claim that our generation doesn't read anymore, but book-themed weddings have been blowing up Pinterest.  Building ceremony arches out of books, using book pages to make bouquets, and stacking books for centerpieces is appropriate here.  As an added bonus, the photography possibilities are almost endless.  For an extra umph, pick a specific/favorite book to narrow down your wedding theme, or find a children's book and base your wedding on the illustrations!

Bonfire
There is nothing like a late-season bonfire, and if your wedding is small, having a bonfire wedding  seems like sheer perfection.  Smores Bars and hot cocoa during the reception are a must, and wearing a cozy sweater over your bridal gown is an adorable touch.

Pantone Tangerine Tango
Pantone's 2012 "Color of the Year" has been taking over by storm, and orange has always been a popular fall color, but this year Tangerine has kicked it up a notch.  When combined with orange-toned pinks, light greens, greys, and whites, "Tangerine Tango" goes from garish to fresh!  Make sure to use the Tangerine as your POP of color (not your primary color) in bouquets, dresses, and decor.

Totally Taupe
All-Neutral weddings have been showing up in the magazines for months and are making a strong appearance in Fall 2013 collections.  To keep it from falling flat, mixing matte and metallic neutrals together is key, as well as adding texture (with materials like lace) and breaking up the taupes with ivory accents.

Mixed Metallics
Instead of mixing browns and oranges for a fall wedding, why not mix golds and bronzes?  Metallic touches instantly add glamour to an event, and with DIY paints and sprays, it's as easy as ever to make your wedding gilded.

Tiffany Blue
Who doesn't love the class and sophistication of Tiffany's?  An overwhelming array of Tiffany Blue will set a perfect mood for a formal wedding.

Caribbean
It's all about the beach.  For attire, stick with breezy chiffon and light, airy colors.  For decor, anything from the surf will do, from sea shells to sand to tropical flowers.  Keep it fresh, fun, and bright!

Mint, Blush, and Coral
This unexpected color mix has popped up all over the internet and in wedding magazines, and it's certainly one to remember.  Especially appropriate for the quirky, vintage, or rustic Bride.

Carnival
This theme is solely for the bold.  Wear a short, polka dot wedding dress.  Have your bridesmaids wear stripes and your groomsmen wear seersucker.  Make pinwheel bouquets.  Have carnival games instead of dancing.  Serve doughnuts instead of cake.  Hire circus performers.  Go nuts!!

Retro Chic
Most brides long for the Old-Hollywood look, and these days it's easily attainable.  Lots of shine, 1940s/50s decor (think coke bottles, diner chairs, and jukeboxes) and pops of red will do the trick.

The new Baz Luhrmann adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby was finally released today, and ever since its original release date in December, the wedding circuit has been blowing up with 1920s-inspired gowns, accessories, and decor.  One must be careful with this trend - it can go cheap, gimmicky, and costume-y VERY quickly, but when done tastefully, it can take your wedding to a high level of glamour and style.  Here's a glimpse of what's in:

Beaded details, intricate lace, unique backs, and caplet sleeves are all featured in this year's popular 1920s dresses.  Designers such as Jenny Packham, Claire Pettibone, BHDLN, and Lazaro are ones to watch.

Headpieces can be anything from bridal caps, long flowing veils, glitzy headbands, and feathered combs.  Art-Deco style jewelry and true-to-the-era shoes are a must.

Stay away from the feathers and flapper fringe!  Classic dresses with beaded details or plain frocks that can be jazzed up with accessories will hit the right note.

Inspiration is drawn directly from Jay Gatsby's wardrobe.  For a formal wedding, a classic black tux is perfect, and for a more casual affair, the Gatsby Standard white linen suit will do.  Conveniently, Brooks Brothers has created a Great Gatsby collection made of suits, shirts, ties, shoes, and anything else your man might require. Art-Deco designs and metallic accents are everything when it comes to keeping with the theme.

No round-ball bouquets here!  Organic-shaped spray bouquets work well here, or, for an extra bit of glamour, go for a vintage brooch bouquet.  For the non-traditionalist who wants to pay homage to F. Scott Fitzgerald, book page bouquets are all the rage.

Rustic Vintage
This trend has been especially popular in my local area and has been blowing up on Pinterest as well.  Classic lace dresses are a staple for this theme.  For the ceremony and reception, barn venues, burlap and lace decor, mason jars, chalkboard signs, and simple flowers will fit the scene.

1920s
Downton Abbey and the upcoming Great Gatsby movie have made 1920s glam weddings very popular.  Designers like Jenny Packham and Claire Pettibone are the go-to creators for 20's gowns.  Metallic touches in decor and speak-easy parties for receptions are perfect touches.  Be careful, though - this theme can go flapper-costume-ey and super cheesy very quickly.  Keep it classy!!

Colored Dresses
Definitely a choice for a non-traditional bride, and one she won't regret.  This spring a variety of pastels have been popular, from blush, sherbet, mint, and lavender.  For an evening wedding, gold and champagne colored dresses are key.

Love Birds
Who would have thought that birds would be the next big thing?  From quaint lovebirds as cake toppers to birdcages as card boxes, feathered friends are showing up everywhere.  Dresses are even being made with bird patterns and feathers.  For an outdoor spring garden wedding, this motif can be extraordinarily cute.

Grey and Yellow
Another Pinterest favorite, this color scheme is perfect for spring or summer.  While yellow dresses can be difficult for bridesmaids, grey dresses with yellow shoes make a great alternative and make a great blank slate for bright yellow flowers; yellow roses, cala lilies, and billy balls accented with dusty miller leaves are perfect.  For the men, grey suits and yellow ties are very popular.  Grey bowls filled with lemons make great reception centerpieces.
